Your Mission
You’ll design and develop new optical transceivers together with verifying and improving the existing transceiver products. You’ll be responsible for advanced optical transceiver/high-speed packaging design, evaluation of optoelectronic components, and high-speed IC. Your success will rely on how well you work with cross-functional teams to lead a concerted effort on prototypes of optical transceivers and bringing it from concept to production.

This includes:

  • Engaging in optical transceiver R&D
  • Designing, building, verifying, and testing the new (engineering) prototypes
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing the design in existing products
  • Development of high speed packaging, Flex and rigid PCB; includes modeling, simulation, building prototypes, performing validation testing, analyzing data, and summarizing the optical transceiver design rule
  • Working closely with production line manager to define hardware and firmware specifications and with product engineer for new product introduction
  • Working with vendors on design and specification of material/subcomponents
  • Providing production support and customer support when necessary

You have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or higher with at least 8 years of relevant work experience at minimum in high-speed circuit design, and as a huge plus specifically in transceiver module design
  • Both theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized areas of knowledge mentioned below; you’re experienced at the design of experiments and data analysis with strong analytical skills
  • A solid understanding of digital, analog circuit design, high speed circuit signal integrity analysis and optimization, including electrical and optical high speed signal testing and signal integrity simulation
  • A deep and clear understanding of optoelectronic devices (EMLs, DMLs, PDs, and APDs, MZ Modulator,), high speed packaging (TOSAs and ROSAs) and high speed digital and analog IC (CDRs, DSPs, SerDes, LDDs, TIAs), with experience at PLL based clock architecture design and selection of power converters or regulators
  • Successful experience at high speed PCB design (more than 12 layers)
  • A deep and clear understanding of Multi Source Agreement of CFP, CFP2, CFP4, and QSFP form factor as well as Diagnostic Monitoring Interface for commercial optical Transceivers
  • A good understanding of architecture and deployment of optical networks (Datacenter, OTN, DWDM and PTN)
  • The ability, and preferably prior success, in executing complex projects working with teams in China, and Taiwan;
    Chinese (Mandarin) language proficiency (highly preferred)
  • Long Haul advanced optical module design experience (highly preferred)
